Numerical Modelling of Groundwater Flow and Contamination Transport (TDS) in Kaniqurzala Area- Central Basin – Erbil City- Kurdistan - Iraq

Modeling groundwater is an effective method for predicting the hydrological characteristics of aquifer and estimating influence pollution transport in groundwater. The objective this study to analyze flow contaminant (TDS) over 50 years Kaniqurzhala region - Erbil City using GMS (Groundwater System) version 10.6. In April May 2022, static water table 27 wells was measured a 60.80 km2 research area. A sample landfill leachate, considered point source region, collected. dimensions model domain's 80 columns 76 rows are (100m x 100m). MODFLOW, MODPATH, MT3DMS codes utilized modeling transfer. There strong connection between measuring head estimated head, model's coefficient determination R2 = 0.9935. After calibration, hydraulic conductivity values layers 1, 2, 3 (3.647222 x10-6 m/s, 2.8935 x10-9 3.24074 respectively). TDS concentrations travel upstream downstream landfills pollute many region.
